  2. Illegitimate license key

I bought a Windows 10 pro product key off of a website called G2Deal for an insanely cheap price that I couldn't pass up at the time. A friend who is more informed about these kinds of things said that the key is almost definitely an illegitimate one.

I apparently clicked yes on the setting that asked if I wanted to link my MS account with my Windows product key and would like to know how to remove the illegitimate product key from my MS account.

    Illegitimate license key

    Hi Sam

You likely bought either an organization key or an MSDN key that has been exhausted because it has been resold so many times.

Licenses selling for too good to be true prices are always sketchy.

Windows 10 Pro/Enterprise volume license clients are used by large organizations that deploy Windows 10 in bulk to hundreds or thousands of computers. Sometimes, users will copy these organization keys off the Internet and use them to install Windows 10 Pro/Enterprise,
but they are blocked from activating because it can't reach appropriate KMS host (Server computer) which handles the activation request.

You would need to purchase a genuine license for Windows 10 Pro from the Microsoft Store. If you can't afford Pro, you can purchase Home, make a bootable copy then perform a custom install.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US...

    Open Start, type: CMD

    Right click CMD

    Click Run as administrator

At the prompt, type: slmgr.vbs /dlv

    Hit Enter

Take a screenshot of the resulting dialog then post in a reply here.
