I was using my computer was on Windows 10, when it all of a sudden did a complete reset. This reset wiped everything - documents, apps, settings, etc. - so it is basically a brand new computer. Also during the reset it appears to have updated to Windows 11. Is there any way to restore my documents? I'm not as concerned about the apps and settings, but I lost a lot of documents for school.I have tried the Recovery Panel and I did not have a backup on OneDrive. Any help would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

Wiping computer

Your report suggests that your installation has suffered some damage which prevents Windows from doing a reset. In such stubborn cases I would do this:

1. Create a new media installation disk:
   
   http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install
2. Run setup.exe on this disk.

It would wipe everything, including your data and all applications.

 

Computer Randomly Hangs; cannot run reset

I have been experiencing a number of issues with Windows 10. The computer randomly hangs up for 10 seconds or so. Since updates also would also not install, I ran the troubleshooter. Now I have resolved the update problem but the computer still randomly
hangs for several seconds across all apps. I tried to reset the computer, but when I click on the reset button, nothing happens.

I ran several malware programs and nothing was found by any of them.

How can I resolve the issue? I tried to follow the steps to run the system checker, but I cannot get the computer to display what the steps say should be displayed.

I have a HP Z Book running Windows 10.
