Windows 10: My computer randomly spams the dot key from time to time, how do I fix this?

This problem arised yesterday, with the problem randomly showing up as soon as I booted up my laptop.At first I didn't notice anything strange, until I opened up my browser and tried to type something in the search bar, that's when I noticed a bunch of dots were being typed with no input from me as if something was holding down the dot key.The problem was temporarily fixed by simply pressing the dot key on my laptop's keyboard I have two keyboards, an USB keyboard and a laptop keyboard.I thought this was a browser problem, so I tried opening a notepad, same problem.I tried checking if someth

I suggest you to change the Date and Time format from Control Panel and check. Also select the time zone as UTC-5.00 Eastern Time.


After changing the setting, I suggest you to set “Windows Time” service as automatic. Follow the steps provided below.

• Press Windows logo Key + R key.
• Type services.msc
• Right click on Windows Time service.
• Select Properties.
• Under startup type drop down, change it to Automatic.
• Click on Apply button and OK button.

Restart your computer and check.

Changing the time on computer.

For you to be able to change the date and time on your computer, you can follow the steps provided below:

• Press Windows key, then click Settings.
• Select Time & language.
• You can change the Time zone or click Change date and time formats to set your desired time and date settings.

Computer time is not syncing properly

Changing some settings on your computer may resolve the issue. Follow the steps below:

• Open Control Panel.
  
• Click Clock, Language, and Region.
  
• Select Date and Time.
  
• Click Change time zone.
  
• Check Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time.
