Windows 10: My computer says I have a 64-bit system, but my computer keeps downloading stuff in 32-bit...

Today I was downloading a software that I have on my 64-bit desktop. And as I was opening it I saw that it was “32-bit” and not 64-bit, which I thought was weird but didn’t look into it.But today I was downloading Roblox for my laptop when I discovered an error with Roblox saying that I had a 32-bit system when my about page in settings clearly said that I had a 64-bit operating system. I’m just confused on what is happening. Can anyone fill my in on if my computer is actually 32-bit and the about page is wrong? Anyway go tell I actually have a 32-bit system? Help.

Confuse Between 32 Bit and 64 Bit System

The difference between the two is what the computer processor can use. A 32 bit processor can not read and execute 64 bit programs or data but a 64 bit processor can do both 64 bit and 32 bit stuff.

Did not notice until already running, downloaded a 32 bit program on a 64 bit system. Would I get better results installing the 64 bit program, or keep the 32 bit program and run it?

Hi Colin,

This means that even though you have a processor that is 64 bit, your Windows is 32 bit. You will not be able to run software for x64 processors unless you install 64 bit Windows. Your computer is capable of 64 bit, but you are effectively 32 bit due to
Windows being 32 bit.
