My problem has been getting worse over time and I don't know how to find its source. My computer slows down over time and I need to reboot after 24h because it starts getting too slow to be useable. Just moving an explorer window is painful, games are getting very jerky when I usually get over 140 fps after a clean reboot.I tried monitoring my task manager, but nothing shows up. I ran spybot and nothing suspicious showed up. My windows 10 is up to date. My C drive has 65 GB free and all my other drives are far from being full. I got windows 10 pro, 10.0.19044 Build 19044. My processor is an AM

  2. slow start up * 6 times slower

    Hi Ali,

The slow start up on your computer may be caused by the update you installed. However, for us to fully identify the root cause, we need to gather additional information. Kindly answer the following:

    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
    • are you getting any error messages when starting up your computer? If so, can you send us a screenshot? Make sure that you remove all personal information.
    • What is the current version and build number of your computer? To get the information, kindly follow the steps below:
      • Click on the Start menu.
      • Type winver.
      • Press Enter.
In the meantime, we suggest that you boot the computer in Safe Mode. This will start your Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. Please follow the steps provided on this

    link
. Once in Safe Mode, kindly check if you will still experience the same issue.

Please post back with the result for further assistance.

  3. Slow Computer

    Hi Sheree,

One of the most common reasons for a slow computer are programs running in the background. Other factors that can contribute to the issue are memory space, malware infection, outdated software, and processor overheating. To improve your computer's performance,
you can check the tips listed on this link. We suggest that you also try to follow the suggested steps.

Feel free to post back if you have further questions.

How to Get Started with a New Computer

You can't do any of this until you go through the initial login. After that the steps you listed are a good start though I use the builtin Windows Defender along with Malwarebytes Anti-malware Premium and Anti-exploit. #2 is key as far as I'm concerned. I backup every Friday using Macrium reflect Pro set for 1 full and 6 incremental.
