I've had this problem ever since I did a clean install of Windows 10. I have a feeling it is because of some driver fault but nothing I did solved the issue. I did DDU, reinstalled the drivers multiple times and so on. Nvidia control panel and geforce experience doesn't pop up until the resolution changes back.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 install won't work because screen resolution to low

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

With the issue description, I understand that you are getting a
    black screen
with an error: “Cannot Display This Video Mode; resolution 1280X1024 60 Hx” on your computer. I will certainly help you in getting this issue resolved. I would appreciate if you could help me with more information

            • When did you get this error & black screen on the computer (After installation or before installation)?

            • What is the make and model of the computer?

            • Are you able to see the Windows logo when you power on the computer?

            • Do you have any external device connected to the computer?

I would suggest you to disconnect the external devices that are connected with the computer apart from
    Keyboard and Mouse.

Let’s try to boot the computer in Low Resolution Mode and check if helps

    • Restart (to get a known UI state)

    • Press the Space bar (to dismiss the default lock screen)

    • Press ESC twice (to step out of the last user login)

    • Shift + Tab (to select the power button)

    • Enter (To open the restart options)

    • Up arrow

    • Shift + Enter

    • Wait a bit, about 4-5 seconds

    • Hit Shift - Tab three times.

    • Press Enter.

    • Hit Tab three times. Then hit Enter again.

    • Hit Shift-Tab three times, then enter twice

    • Wait a bit, the machine should be rebooting. This usually takes 15 seconds.

    • Finally, press 3.

Hope this information is helpful. Please write back to us if you need any further assistance, we'll be glad to assist you.

  3. Black Screen. Resolution too low

In between switching monitors, not sure how, my computer's resolution changed itself to 640 x 480/60Hz. That's not what I had it on for the TV i used to use as a monitor so not sure how/why it changed. And now when I connect my new monitor to my computer,
my monitor tells me the resolution for my computer is too low and it only shows me a black screen.

I don't own the old TV I used as a monitor before anymore and I've tried connecting the computer to other televisions throughout the house. They all just show black screens. I assume the resolution is too low for them as well.

    How do I fix this?

Computer goes to sleep every 30 seconds

    Hello,

Sorry I think you misunderstood me.

The computer resumes from the sleep just fine. My problem is if I leave my desk for 30 seconds, it goes into sleep. That shouldn't happen because my power plan settings is 30 minutes.

Hope I am clear this time.

    Regards
