  2. Game controller ID settings

    Hi Joe,

Thank you for the update. I understand your concern.

I would suggest you to look for the Devices settings in Control Panel and check if the game controllers are listed. If so, refer to the following steps to alter the settings and check if these are helpful in resolving your issue.

    a. Right click on one of your game controllers and click Game Controller Settings. Note where in the list it is. If it is not at the top proceed to the next step.

    b. Right click and remove all your other controllers (not the 360/gamepad) and let them reinstall automatically.

    c. Once complete right click and check the list again and see if the 360 controller/gamepad is at the top. If so, give the game another try and see if it detects your controller.

If the issue still persists, restart your console and then try to reconnect your controller.

Hope this information is helpful. Please post back your results for further assistance.

  3. Windows 10 detected double gamepad??

    Hello Henry,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Firstly, could you let me know the specific system version? You can check it by pressing the Win key + R key, and typing "winver", then press Enter, please take a screenshot/photo of it, and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

It seems like your Windows 10 laptop is detecting your USB gamepads as "Twin" model, and the game you are trying to play can only recognize gamepad 1 and 2. This can cause conflicts when connecting both gamepads.

Here are some steps you can try to fix the issue:

    1. Unplug both gamepads from your laptop.
    2. Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager", look for the "Human Interface Devices" category and expand it.
    3. Find the entries for your gamepads:Look for any entries related to the gamepads, likely with names like "Twin Gamepad" or similar. You may also see multiple entries for each gamepad.
    4. Disable duplicate entries: Right-click on any duplicate entries and select "Disable Device" for those that are duplicated.
    5. After disabling the duplicates, reconnect one gamepad and check if it is recognized correctly by your laptop. Test it in the Game Controllers settings to ensure it is working properly.
    6. Test the second gamepad: Once the first gamepad is working correctly, disconnect it and reconnect the second gamepad. Make sure it is also recognized as a unique device in the Game Controllers settings.
    7. Test both gamepads together: After confirming that both gamepads are working individually, connect them both to your laptop and check if they work simultaneously in the Game Controllers settings.
    8. Configure the game settings: If the game still does not recognize both gamepads, check the game's settings or options to see if there is an option to select different controllers or configure multiple gamepads.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it's possible that the game you are trying to play has limited support for multiple gamepads. In that case, you may need to look for third-party software or alternative games that can better accommodate multiple gamepad inputs.

Additionally, make sure your gamepads are compatible with Windows 10. Sometimes, using different gamepads or using an updated driver/software for the gamepad might help ensure proper recognition by the operating system and games.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,

New gamepad controller works properly only when wired, not with included dongle

Hi again, thanks for the responses. In attempting the troubleshooting steps you outlined, I noticed some things while looking at the Device Manager and Device tab of the Control Panel.

    - In Device Manager, the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows device does not show up when the controller is plugged in via the dongle. Well rather, it is still there, but it's hidden - I have to turn on Show Hidden Devices to see it - and when I click on Properties, the box in the General tab says "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer (Code 45). To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the controller."
    - In the Device tab of the Control Panel, right-clicking on "BEITONG A1N2 BFM DONGLE" (with the controller connected via dongle) and selecting Properties, then going to the Hardware tab, lists several device functions:

    1. HID-compliant device
    2. HID-compliant game controller
    3. HID-compliant mouse
    4. USB Composite Device
    5. USB Input Device
    6. USB Input Device
Meanwhile, right-clicking on "BEITONG A1N2 XINPUT GAMEPAD" (while the controller is connected via USB cord) lists different device functions:

    1. HID-compliant game controller
    2. USB input device
    3. Xbox 360 Controller for Windows
So, I'd guess that in order for the controller to work properly, the "BEITONG A1N2 BFM DONGLE" would have to have the HID-compliant mouse device function removed, and the Xbox Controller 360 for Windows device function added. Any idea how I can accomplish that?
