Windows 10: My Cougar Vantar is inserting a Backslash (\) after I press enter

I know after googling this it is a moderately common problem, but all the fixes I've tried haven't worked at all. I'm not sure if this is an issue with my actual keyboard, or just how Windows reads my keyboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have an assessment I need to do.

People App inserting backslashes after email addresses.

Windows version 1909.

No it doesn't send the email because the backslash is an invalid character in an email address.

I've created a "test" group and it has eventually inserted the backslashes into those addresses also.

 

Windows 10 Cortana backslash in path

Up until a couple of days ago, I used to be able to type paths into Cortana and press the enter key on the keyboard to open them. Now, as soon as I type a backslash the enter key no longer works, and I can't use the arrow keys to select other items from the list of suggestions -- it's still possible to use the mouse.

If I type C: everything works as expected. When it becomes C:\ the keyboard selection stops. The keyboard selection also stops when using a UNC path such as \\pc

I have no idea what I've done. Any suggestions? Currently running Windows 10 (10586.420)
