Windows 10: My cursor is changes to "loading in background" cursor after every second for a split second.

My Windows cursor is literally drunk. From the past day I am seeing that my cursor, after every second changes to the loading in background cursorcursor+loading circle, and it remains in it for a split second, after which it goes normal, but then the cycle repeats, after every second or under. In task manager, I don't see any programs miss behaving. Windows is such a complex OS that anything go wrong so easily. And of course, I did restart and all that beginner stuff, but no fix. Might try checking for updates, might doubt that would work.

Mouse Cursor on second screen changes randomly

• Did the issue only occur when you updated your graphics card?
  • Appears to have only begun with the new graphics card. It's an AMD RX480 card. I uninstalled all Nvidia drivers prior to installing the new AMD drivers. It doesn't occur on the first monitor, only second. Which would indicate either something in the
    translation between monitors or something along those lines.
• Are your drivers up to date?
  • From my understanding they all are, I try to keep everything up to date.
• Have you checked if the problem is the mouse itself?
  • I do not currently have a second mouse, but the fact that it's only when it tracks to the second screen. On first screen everything is good. The normal cursor displays, but when I track to the second screen that's when the weirdness happens.
• Are you using a wired mouse
  • Yes

 

Mouse hangs, freezes for a split second, every two seconds, when moving the cursor around the screen

Seems like after the latest fall update my mouse freezes, both if using touchpad or wired mouse.

Tried in safe mode, DOES NOT occur in safe mode.

Went through the WHOLE LIST of services and start up programs after a clean boot, one by one... could not find the problem.

Checked for updated drivers all updated. Still annoying stops freezes for a split second every few seconds when moving the cursor around the screen.

Do I just need to do a hard drive format and clean install?

Cursor "cross" is transparent

Hi RR and thanks for your reply and suggestion.

Here's an update from my end:

This only happens on my laptop screen when it is plugged into a second monitor.

• If Excel is on the second monitor, then the cursor cross is white.
• If the laptop isn't plugged into the second monitor then the cursor cross is white.

I think the same happens on all Office applications - certainly PowerPoint as well.

From this ^^above, I doubt it is an Excel setting. Not really sure where to start looking for a fix. The issue is that it impedes the use of the application as you keep losing where the damn cursor is.
