My cursor keeps clicking things on its own.

The cursor keeps clicking things by itself and jumping around the screen. I can't even type because it clicks something else before I can do anything, I can't even get a screen recording of this without the clicking interrupting me. I can't even write this question. It opens up random things and closes things that I'm working on even without SAVING! I have tried updating my drivers it says they are all up to date. I've cleaned the screen and the touchpad and I don't know what else to do. Sometimes it won't even let me scroll and other times it will go way to fast. I have my touchpad sensit

    :)

  2. Cursor clicks on things randomly all by itself

    Hi Tom,

Experiencing erratic movements of the cursor could be related to a hardware or driver issue, a third party software, or could be caused by a corrupted program. To help us determine what may have caused this, I would like to ask the following information:

    • Were there any updates installed or changes made on your laptop prior to the issue?
    • If yes, what were those updates or changes?
    • Are you using an external mouse or just the touchpad?

While waiting for your response, please try the following steps:

    Update Touchpad driver

    1. Right-click the Windows key and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand the Mice and other point devices category, right-click the touchpad, and click
      Update Driver.
    3. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    Adjust Touchpad sensitivity

    1. Navigate to Settings > Devices > Touchpad.
    2. Adjust the Touchpad sensitivity to Low sensitivity.

If you have additional questions, or if the issue persists after the troubleshooting steps above, please let me know by replying to this thread. This way, I'll get notified and respond back to you as soon as I can.

    Regards.
