Windows 10: My D drive partition is showing 196GB of used space. However, actual storage used by my...

I have a D drive partition of 256 GB. I don't have a lot of data in it. However, it shows 196GB used. I have tried disk cleanup but it didn't show any big temporary files of anything. Screenshot of storage details of other files shows 179 GB occupied by Other files. If I open that up, it is actually hardly even 16GB, so I am wondering what is it that is occupying my space?! I have tried scanning the drive for errors, no errors show up. I have tried looking for viruses, no threats show up.

1. What is the make and model number of your Computer?
   

Please note that recovery "D" is a partition on the hard drive which contains the image of the Operating system. You can use it to restore the computer back to factory settings. You should not attempt to store files in it.
If you have any data saved on the D drive, I would suggest you to move it to an external drive and to free up some space, you can follow the steps provided in the article:

D drive

For us to check if a certain virus is hiding your files, kindly follow the steps below:

• Type Command prompt in the search bar.
• Type-in the following command:
  
  attrib -h -r -s /s /d D:\*.*
• Press Enter to execute the command.

If you think that there is nothing important stored in it, then we suggest that you reformat your D drive so that you can use the free space for important files.

• Click on the File Explorer.
• Select This PC.

Creating storage spaces using 2 drives

I have a workstation (HP z1) that only supports 2 drives. Is it possible to set up a mirrored storage space with this IF the OS (Windows 10) is on a separate partition and I mirror just the remainder of that drive with the other? I know Storage Spaces doesn't
support mirroring the boot drive, but I don't know if that applies if the disk is partitioned. My other option is to use the hardware RAID1 built into the motherboard, but I'm curious if this can be done with SS.
