My D: hard drive disappeared this morning! Has hard drive failed Or issue with Windows11 update on March 27, 2025? Windows 11, Dell XPS 8930 My C: is 250GB SSD and D: is 1 Tb hard drive. I woke up this morning, and found the D: no longer shows up in Windows File Explorer. I ran Dell Support Assist, Disk Management but it did not fix the problem. BIOS won't even run. I ran full system diagnostics but it said there's no problem. I tried to do a System Restore from the last restore point it created March 27th 2025 yesterday when Windows11 updated itself but it failed I am wondering if the har

  When you say failed hard drive, are you referring to external hard drive or internal hard drive?

OK,good. Somewhere in Canada over Newyork - same time zone as. ET Now post a screenshot overview of D: drive in Hard Disk Sentinel. Select your D: drive Disk 0 and not Disk1 which is your system drive. Sample screenshot :

No need to be in a hurry. I am going to bed now and will see it my tomorrow morning about 8 t0 10 hours now. Disk 0 has a drive letter D: So the partition exists. It is not a partition recovery problem as Samuria suggested in his post #3
