Windows 10: My Delete key seems to be stuck in software mode ?

Hi


I recently had few issues which I believe are result of certain Key pad buttons getting Enabled/Stuck virtually from within the software not the actual key on keyboard as it appears and functions fine


Issues


1 The Left Shift + C was not working even though the button C and Left Shift were working individually and with other combinations

faced the issue for months then it automatically got rectified few days ago.


2 The Brightness used to automatically force itself down , even though the auto brightness and similar options were disabled, again the physical buttons appeared and functioned fine.

This issue also seem to have resolved automatically over last few weeks .


3 Day before yesterday , my files and folders started getting deletedwhen I clicked on them either with Left or right mouse button, The issue was there even after disconnecting the mouse . The Touchpad also became unresponsive


Workaround for Issue 3

Naturally I did not find these issues listed on any community forum of Microsoft or HP , but a little research pointed me to a video , where the poster advised that for Issue 3 the most logical reason was Delete key getting stuck in software mode. The workaround for that was to download KeyTweak 2.0 and from majorgeek website to disable the Delete key virtually.


This fix appears to have resolved the auto delete of my files and folders when its clicked.



Problem

So the issue appears to be some kind of issue with the Keypad software , where some keys are getting continuously enabled

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling / updating the Laptop Keypad driver without any real successes


Solution / Fix needed

Is there any way to fix the Keypad software issue permanently ?

Windows 10 factory install

Stuck in safe mode in windows 10

Safe mode is intended to help fix most, if not all problems within an operating system, it's not good if we got stuck on it. To correct this, we suggest that you follow the steps below to exit out of Safe mode:

• Open Run command by pressing Windows key + R
  keys on the keyboard and type msconfig in the command box and press
  Enter.
• Under General tab, put a check on Normal Startup option.
• Reboot the system and check if the changes are effective.

Let us know if you are able to exit out of Safe mode with these steps.

 

Computer got stuck on Safe Mode

Hi David,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As your computer is stuck in Safe Mode, try these steps.

• Press Win + R key on the keyboard and in the run Window type
  msconfig.
• Click the Boot tab and uncheck Safe boot if it is selected.

  Hardware and Sound.
  
•

  to run the troubleshooter.
