Windows 10: My desktop folders and games are not visible

Win10 Desktop files are in my Desktop folder but not visible on my Desktop

I'm still reviewing this, one little step at a time.

• I think my recent video driver update is one issue
• The other issue would be that I set all three profile's Desktop to literally use the same physical folder location.
  
• I'm slowly checking where the trigger is which causes this issue.

So far it appears when I log out of each profile before logging into another profile, my Desktop is not altered / icons re-arranged, and my game doesn't crash (since it was closed before I logged out). This defeats the purpose of my three profiles

• I want three active work environments, not three environments I need to shut down each time I switch to another profile.
  
• Also this doesn't help me troubleshoot what is causing my game crash - since the game is closed before I log out of the profiles, there is no way for it to crash when/before I am logging back in.

Steps I've taken so far:

• I now left my primary profile open/active and logging in and out of the other two as I use them. I definitely have the two primary issues ... so it's not a three profile issue, it's a multiple profile issue.

Steps I plan to take next:

• I would have rolled back my display driver or performed a System Restore, however for some reason the Roll Back Driver option is greyed out, and my manual system restore was deleted for some reason when an automatic restore point was created 4 days later.
  Not certain why that happened, I've allocated 30% of my HDD for Restore, 30+GB, and less than 2GB has been used.
• I'm trying to avoid rolling back the display driver. I don't have the prior version and my prior version was not the version before the current version.
• So I will segregate my Desktop folders next, and repeat all the prior tests

Hi Peter,

Based on the details you have provided, you can try these basic steps:

• Right-click on your desktop.
• Select View.
• Check or uncheck Auto Arrange Icons.
• It should make all files and folders appear but on the left side, You will have to drag and drop them where you need it.

Desktop shortcuts in Folders not visible

When I switched on my pc yesterday running latest version of Win 10 I notice that all the shortcuts are no longer visible in the desktop folders, or, any folders. Before I could see a representation of them sticking out from the Folder.

When I click on a folder it opens and all the shortcuts are there where they should be.

Why have the shortcuts disappeared?
