Windows 10: my desktop randomly goes grey after having my PC on for 24 hours

Discus and support my desktop randomly goes grey after having my PC on for 24 hours in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; when I click all the way bottom right I will still go to my actual desktop but it's annoying because it will grey out whenever I alt tab...     when I click all the way bottom right I will still go to my actual desktop but it's annoying because it will grey out whenever I alt tab

    Also restarting my PC fixes it for again 24 hours or so

    changing the clock to 24 hour mode on desktop

    Many thanks & it has worked for the time setting on the task bar but the time that appears on the desktop when the laptop is switched on ie. before you activate your pin access, still remains in 12 hour format.

    Windows 10. 12 to 24 hours

    Hi Sandra,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    To change the time format from 12 hour to 24 hour in Windows 10.

    Follow the steps:

    • Navigate to Control panel.
    • In the category view of the control panel, click on the
      ‘Change date, time, or number formats’.
    • Change the short time to HH:mm from the drop down.
    • Press Apply to make the changes.
    • Now your time format will change to 24 hour format.
