My device supports thunderbolt 4 but I don't see it in device manager. All I see is usb4. Is this thunderbolt?The thunderbolt control center shows Controller driver version NA. I have updated bios and windows 11 is up to date. I am using ASUS TUF dash 15 i7 12th gen. On a second device I do see thunderbolt under software component but on this device I don't see it under software component. All I see is usb4 as shown in above image. The usb4 don't show on my second device where I see thunderbolt under software component menu. What could be wrong? Please help.Thank you

Win. 11 Thunderbolt 4 Hub not detected. FIX ?

I have the same problem with a 2022 Zephyrus M16 and a Plugable thunderbolt 4/usb 4 hub.

My laptop works fine with thunderbolt3 devices (seems to be built-in to the usb4 driver).

But when i go into the thunderbolt control app, the about page shows blank for the thunderbolt driver.

installing the latest intel thunderbolt driver fails with an error code that google implies means the driver is already installed (but seems to be referring to the usb4 driver).

yet the usb4/thunderbolt 4 hub acts like its not being approved/activated.

no devices plugged into it are recognized or even completely powered (thunderbolt ssd just blinks)

What’s New: Today, Intel revealed new details about Thunderbolt™ 4, the next generation of its universal cable connectivity solution, delivering increased minimum performance requirements, expanded capabilities and USB4 specification compliance. Double the minimum video and data requirements of Thunderbolt 3.

Thunderbolt 3 USB Devices, Device Mgr and Thunderbolt Drivers

One topic that may be helpful to thunderbolt 3 users on Win 10. For various reasons you can have thunderbolt 3 usb - c port hardware installed on your win 10 box and may not see thunderbolt 3 drivers present in the device mgr. One reason for this
is the thunderbolt drivers are not installed. If the hardware is recognized by the bios and the thunderbolt driver is not installed you should see a device called the base system device. Installing the correct thunderbolt driver will then replace the base
system device with the thunderbolt controller device.

As a follow on to this topic, I have seen an installed and working a Thunderbolt 3 controller device,(visible in the Device Manager) disappear from the Device Manager after a Windows 10 update. This puzzled me quite a bit and I have 4 servers with Thunderbolt
3 USB C devices and they have all had this take place at one time or another.

As a hunch, I cleared the BIOS (to clear the NVRAM variables), restarted the computer and then the Thunderbolt 3 devices were again seen and working in the Device Manager. (It had nothing to do with Thunderbolt 3 docks being attached during the update and/or
being attached or not during system/hardware restart).

The 'fix' was to clear the NVRAM in the BIOS. I leave it to you to guess why this might matter.
