  1. My disc drive in file explorer

Okay so my disc drive in file explorer on my Windows 11 Microsoft Surface Pro laptop has been telling me that the storage is full even though ive uninstalled apps, deleted empty files, files I don't need, I've tried clearing Microsoft cache, I've tried a disc cleanup etc... nothing seems to be working and this is really frustrating and annoying because I can't do anything in PS, AI, or Id and I use all three of those apps for my college courses so if someone has a solution please tell me ASAP cause I'm really desperate at this point so I'm getting down my knees and begging someone for a fix.

    :)

  2. how do I see what is on my portable disc drive?

    Hello Sue Pouliot,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

To view the contents of the disc in your portable CD/DVR drive, you can follow these steps:

    1. Connect the portable CD/DVR drive properly to your computer, and then insert the disc into the portable CD/DVR drive.
    2. Open File Explorer on your computer.
    3. In the left sidebar of File Explorer, you should see your CD/DVR drive listed under "This PC" or "Computer".
    4. Click on the CD/DVR drive icon to view the contents of the disc.
    5. You should now see the files and folders stored on the disc. You can click on them to open and view the contents.

If the disc does not auto-play, you may need to manually access the disc through File Explorer as described above.

If you encounter any problems or are unable to recognize the disc, make sure that the disc is properly inserted into the drive and that the drive is properly connected to the computer. Also make sure that the format of the disc you inserted is recognized by the portable CD/DVR drive.

  4. My disc drive in file explorer

I have just updated my PC's to windows 10

    Hi Hugh,

In your first PC, you have mentioned that your disc drive is not recognized in File Explorer but is displayed in the Device Manager. This could occur if a drive letter is not assigned to the CD/DVD drive. I would suggest you to try assigning a drive letter
to the disc drive and then check if it is displayed in the File Explorer. Press Windows key + X, click on 'Disk management' and then check if the disk drive is listed. If it is listed without a drive letter, right click on the drive and select 'Change drive
letter and paths'. Click on 'Add' and then assign a drive letter that is not assigned for any other drives. Now, open File Explorer and check if the drive is listed.

In your second PC, you have mentioned that there is no sound. In this case, I would suggest you to try the steps suggested in this article and check:
