Windows 10: My disc gets 100% when I leave my system untouched for some time and when I use it again

Hi,So the problem I face is quite different. When I leave my system untouched for about 10-15 mins or so and when I use it back again my disc gets to 100% and my system gets slow and becomes unusable for some time. But after 5 mins or so everything reverts back to normal and it becomes functional back again.I tried resolving this by stopping some of the processes in Task Manager but it's of no use.Could anyone help me with this sort of new problem plsMy PC SPECS AREell Inspiron 55594GB RAMDisc: TOSHIBA MQ01ABD100

Disc Usage at 100%

Thanks for getting back to me.

I started going through your list of suggestions.

I have switched off all background apps. I was horrified to see so many.

I then disabled windows update.

At that stage I thought I would check out disc usage on task manager.

Disc activity had gone down dramatically and in the performance tag activity was very low, it spiked from time to time if I did something on the PC but the speed on all activity was back to normal.

I thought I would leave things as they were and see if things stayed the same.

No problems at all until this afternoon I was trying to look at a file via windows explorer and got the message "not responding". A quick look at task manager and disc activity is 100% again. Everything slows down. I close down some screens and the desk
top turns black.

The only way I can get a display up again is "alt" + "tab". The task bar has disappeared. I decided to reboot but the only way I can do that is with the on'/off switch.

The PC reboots. I check that all the apps are still switched off and windows update is still disabled, Disc activity is still 100%.

As I type this disc activity has suddenly dropped. it keeps spiking to 100% but then reverts back to about 12%.

Is this normal or is there something else I should do.

Back to 100% now. How do I find out what is actually happening, what activity is the disc doing?

I am confused.

Any suggestions?

 

100 % Disc Time after update

After windows feature update 2004, my HDD disc time remains 100% during starting my pc and also during opening a new software. In the task manager System and Avast service are two software that usually takes most of the disc. But during starting a new software,
the software itself takes the most of the disc time. I have 8GB RAM ,my virtual memory is set accordingly : min = recommended, max = ram size *1.5 . There was problem during updating, my laptop screen became black that time while keyboard light , disc light
and active light was on.Eventually that resolved and my laptop updated successfully.But after that update my disc time remains 100 %. One of my friend told me to check task schedule but I thought I should take advice from expert first.

Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)

Click on the Disc column header

Leave that window open

When you system is at rest and your disc is at 100%

What are the top 5 processes listed - please provide a screenshot of that window . . .
