Windows 10: My disk spikes to 100% freezes up and blue screen. How to fix?

When it freezes, I can’t do anything but move my mouse, not even click. I plugged in installation media, and see the purple screen. Im scared if i hit install now all my personal data is going to be erased. I have a lot of important files that i do not want to give up. What do i do?Also, when it froze, I saw my c: drive was at 100% utilization, I’m not sure if that’s normal. I waited two minutes and it blue screened. I will put some of the pictures below. 100% Disk usage spike on Windows 10

Recently I have experienced that when running most applications (especially gaming) my Laptop would have a disk usage spike to 99% or 100%. when I check the task manager there is no specific program using the disk, its just at 100% usually forcing me to
do a hard restart. baring in mind that when I run the programs the usually run smoothly and very randomly the disk usage spikes. this has only been happening since downloading windows 10. I have read many threads and applied many fixes such as disabling SuperFetch,
BIT service and windows update. I have also disable cloud based protection which seemed to work for some people but not for me, any other suggestions?

 

Windows 10 disk keeps spiking to 100%

Hi,

My disk keeps spiking to 100% since I upgraded to Windows 10. I upgraded in September and the problem started with little infrequent spikes where the disk would stay at 100% for a few seconds. However since September the problem has got progressively worse
and now the disk usage frequently reaches 100% and it stays at 100% for about 5 minutes.

I've tried various solutions on the internet to 100% disk but none of them have worked.

 

How to fix computer freezing via disk usage going to 100%

Hi, thank you for your help! Unfortunately, the issue persists.

Windows is up to date, as are all the drivers.

Due to the computer freezing as it spikes to 100% CPU, it does not appear to show the process at fault, though "System" does sometimes show high on the list around spikes.

Windows Defender found nothing

Malwarebytes found nothing

The hard drive checker shows a health of 100% good.
