Windows 10: My display suddenly switches to 1920x1080 and can no longer fit display to widescreen LG...

I am running Windows 10 and have a widescreen LG monitor. My display is currently displaying a standard frame width with two large vertical blocks of unused monitor space on either side of the screen. This is because I changed the actual monitor settings from "widescreen" to "original" but I usually always have it at widescreen with 2560x1080. I have tried messing with the display settings but the recommended 2560x1080 is no longer there and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my AMD display driver, but still nothing. I cannot understand why this happened. in the morning I was at my apartmen

Display is skewed left on widescreen monitor

I have a Toshiba Satellite Radius laptop and was using a square monitor with it. Now I switched it out for a widescreen monitor but the display is skewed left - I do not see the control panel window on the monitor. I tried auto adjusting and moving it
100% left on the horizontal option, but it still won't fit. Help?

Oh I see. No worries, there are other ways to do it.

Method 1: Adjust screen size on NVIDIA GPUs

1. Right-click on the desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel.

2. From the left pane, click on the Adjust desktop size and position tab.

3. From the right pane, click the Size tab under “Apply the following settings“.

4. Check the “Enable desktop resizing” box under “resize the desktop if the display setting did not provide a proper fit” section.

5. Save the changes and check if Windows 10 fit the screen.

6. Run a PC Scan with Restoro Repair Tool to find errors causing security problems and slowdowns. After the scan is complete, the repair process will replace damaged files with fresh Windows files and components.

Method 2: Adjust display size in AMD control panel

1. Right-click on the desktop and click on AMD Radeon Settings.

2. From the ADM Radeon Setting window, click the Display tab.

3. Use the HDMI Scaling slider to adjust the HDMI scaling.

4. The preview should be visible on the screen in real time. Set the scaling to your preferred position and that’s it.

Other possible fix: Update display adapter driver

If the issue persists, try updating the display adapter driver from the Device Manager.

Type device in the search bar and click on Device Manager.

In the Device Manager expand the Display Adapter section.

Right-click on your graphics device and select Update Driver.

Select “Search automatically for updated driver and software” option.

Windows will now search for any pending update and download it.

Once the update is installed, check if Windows 10 fit the screen.

If you are using a TV as an external display, make sure you adjust the zoom option on the TV before making any changes on the source device.
