  1. My disply will not sleep if I set time for anything longer than 1 minute

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad computer 12th Gen Intel i7-1260P 2.10 GHz, 24 GB RAM running the latest version of Windows 11 Pro. When I set the screen to sleep after 1 minute of inactivity Settings -> Power & Battery -> Screen and Sleep, the feature seems to work and my display goes dark after the period of inactivity. However, if I set the sleep setting to 2 minutes or more the screen does not turn off as requested. I have attempted this both with programs open i.e. Chrome, MS Office, etc. and immediately after startup without opening any programs though background processes a

  2. Windows Goes to Sleep in 1 to 2 Minutes Despite Settings

I have a Dell Latitude 9410 with Windows 10 Professional. For some reason my computer goes to sleep within 1 to 2 minutes despite my power and sleep settings set to 30 to 45 minutes. I've tried a number of suggestions from forums and sources including the items listed below.

    Any suggestions?

    1. Changed the plan settings for the both the “Balanced” and “Dell” plans under “Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options”. The “Dell” plan is the once selected, but I changed both.

    2. Changed the advanced power settings for the selected plan under “Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings”.

    3. Confirmed there is no a screensaver set under “Control Panel > Screensaver”.

    4. Completed all updates under Windows update.

    5. Confirmed the driver for the graphics card is up to date.

    6. Changed the “Attributes” registry setting under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\238C9FA8-0AAD-41ED-83F4-97BE242C8F20\7bc4a2f9-d8fc-4469-b07b-33eb785aaca0" from 1 to 2.

    7. Ran the troubleshooter for power options which reset my settings back to 2 to 4 minutes, rebooted, and then changed it back to my extended settings.

  3. Windows 10 - Sleep Works But Only if 5 Minutes or Less

What about the Troubleshooting tutorial steps here:

    https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/fix-windows-10-sl...

I've never seen at least one them not be successful.

I had suggested first to set Display at 0, Sleep at 1 minute and Hibernate at 2 minutes and then after each step sit back to observe. I have rarely had to work all the way through the list.

Absolute thoroughness is required when troubleshooting Sleep, skipping nothing and asking back if you need any help to complete a step. We often find out later that the fix was the skipped step, so please do not skip any. If you need help performing any step
    I will help.

  4. My disply will not sleep if I set time for anything longer than 1 minute

Since recent update, screen goes to sleep in 1 minute, no matter what my settings!

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply, but once I get past step 1, none of what I have matches these instructions. No options for small icons on settings, no options for High Performance, either. In my settings for Power & Sleep, there are only options for Screen and
Sleep settings, which I have already reset to much longer than one minute.

    Other ideas?

    Thanks.
