Windows 10: My Document files are gone

    My Document files are gone


    I didn't Open The document folders for a week or something and yesterday when I opened it only 4 Folders were there.Please Help! Important Files are there!

    Why did the startup window get cleared?

    I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

    Can you please provide more information on your question.

    What type oof document is gone, what application did you create that document in, and if you open that application, does the document appear in the recent files list, and if so, can it be opened from there?

    Hi Richard,



    To sort your documents in your File Explorer by date, we suggest following the steps below:



    • Type File Explorer in Cortana search box to open File Explorer.
    • Go to the folder that you want to sort.
    • Click on View that is located on the top part of the window.
    • Click on Sort by.
    • Choose Date.


    Your files should be sorted by date with this option.



    Let us know if this works for you.
