Windows 10: My downloads folder and documents folder have both turned into downloads

While moving the location of my downloads and documents folder i accidentally moved them to the same location. Now they both lead to documents folder and i cannot access the downloads folder. Even when moving the location via default they both now default to C:\Users\User\Documents. How do i split the two folders once again.

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

Documents folder renamed to Downloads

Last night I was copying Pictures and Documents to external drives as backups.

Now I see two Downloads folders and no documents folder. One downloads folder has the download icon, the other downloads folder has the documents icon, and all the documents. The change does not seem to affect Office and Quicken, they find their files without
a problem. Tried to rename it back to Documents, but it won't rename.

Suggestions?

Hi,

Well i just installed Windows 10 and i wanted to change the location of the Downloads and Documents folder to another Local Disck (D).

So i did this from Proprieties but there was an issue that Downloads folder combined somehow with Documents folder and now everything i download is downloading in Documents folder. I also Tried to Move Downloads folder but it moves with Documents together.
And i cant do anything. And the Downloads folder is also named Documents folder, like its strange and cant do anything.

Help please.
