    My Epson Printer Removed by MS


    Very bizarre but it happened; today I went to print a PDFdocument and it wouldn’t print. I went to the printers folder and noticed myEpson printer was not there anymore but instead I had 3 new printers all fromMS MS print to OneNote, MS print to Fax and MS print to PDF. In the 4 years Ihave my Lenovo Flex laptop with Windows 10, that never happened.



    So I deleted the 3 MS printers and had to re install myEpson printer and all looks fine so far.



    Why MS removed my printer and installed their own?

    Did our Epson printer get hacked?

    Wow. I searched on a few of those keywords and saw some things relevant to HP printers but not Epson. Really interested to see what you find out. I've got an Epson workforce printer myself.

    Did our Epson printer get hacked?

    It seems just about everyday our WP-4530 has one page with some strange ASCII type characters at the top. But today it had a page with the following message:
    "stackoverflowin/sthack the hacker god has returned - [link removed] - [link removed] - s/o BTI - your printer is part of a flaming botnet"

    Has our printer been hacked? I updated to the latest firmware. Any other steps you guys would recommend? I've contacted Epson printer support to see what they recommend as well.
