Windows 10: My External HDD disconnects and reconnects upon executing any scan/games/heavy applications

Processor : AMD Ryzen 5 3400GHDD : Seagate ST1000DM010-2EP102 having the problemSSD : Western Digital WDC WDS240G2G0B-00EPW0RAM : 16.0GB Single-Channel DDR4Motherboard : Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2 AM4I use my PC for normal work and some light gaming. However since many days I have been trying to fix this problem where if I execute any game or try to copy paste large files >1GB the HDD disconnects and later reconnects after some 5-10 sec. I even surfed the internet for quite a while and tried :1. chkdsk scans showed no bad sectors or any errors2. reconnecting the SATA cables 3. checking

External HDDs

Hi i had a seagate freeagent (external) which stopped working so i bought another enclosure and the hdd kept disconnecting/reconnecting in windows 8.1, so i boht another enclosure and also the same thing. Iv tried a different hdd and all hdds work perfectly when plugged directly into sata ports on the board, are there any other steps i can try or do you think iv just been unlucky with enclosures?

 

USB 3.0 randomly disconnecting and reconnecting, not power config

So I have a Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10, and an external USB 3 HDD. If I plug in the HDD, a process will begin. First the drive will appear with the drive letter only, and be unreadable, but in an unusual way. Any software that attempts to interact with it will hang until it either crashes or the drive is disconnected. During this stage the drive may disconnect and reconnect multiple times. If left in for long enough, the drive will finally show up with it's name, and be readable. However it still disconnects and reconnects.

Steps I have tried:

• Disabling the power saving features for all USB devices in Device Manager
  
• Reinstalling all USB drivers
  
• Testing hard disk on my desktop computer (where it works fine).
  
• Powering down the drive for an extended time before trying again
  

 

Random USB Disconnects-reconnects for unknown device.

Hi all, I have a clean install windows 10 home with the specs listed in my profile.

Im getting continuous disconnect USB sounds, often multiple times in a row, and the occasional reconnect sound.

Ive used a program call USBDeview, and can confidently say it is the top tow devices that disconnect and reconnect. I'm unsure what they are and how to solve the problem.

It doesnt happen 24/7, but sometimes it will do it for 40 mins and sometimes 5 mins then stop etc etc, very random.

I dont have any External HDD plugged into drives J K L M, but they normally get assigned to .iso's or Portable HDD's.
