My external hdd doesn't show all files in one specific folder. I have Premier Pro project and its data in that folder. It was fine before this happen. I edit documentary film through directly from external hdd. Now all the files in that folder doesnt show up. It has been a week. I already chkdsk it and it still doesnt show. It doesnt show on my Macbook too. How to solve this? All the other folders are fine.

Windows doesn`t start. Authomatic repair doesn`t work.

    Thanks again!!

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

I ran SeaTools. These are the results:

Does it mean my HDD is useless?

  3. Windows 10 search for a specific folder name and file name

Carlos: Thanks for your reply. What you suggest is what I have been doing. I search for folders with a specific name and get a list. Then I have to search each folder for a specific file. So it's a two step search and that's what I was trying to avoid.

I assume there are applications out there that allow for an "AND" search in Windows. I'll try that approach.

    Thanks, again.

Files and Folders Not Showing on External Devices

Hello, I have this issue where the files and folders on an external device (such as an external HDD and USB) are not showing up, yet the device is visible. I only started getting this issue after I connected my USB to another computer which makes me think a virus caused this. Here's where I am at:

The drive in question is the "STEAM GAMES (FMy external hdd doesn't show all files in one specific folder. :)" drive. It shows up in explorer as shown:

My external hdd doesn't show all files in one specific folder. 36700d1485956713t-files-folders-not-showing-external-devices-k6fzp.png

And when opened, this is what's inside the F drive:

My external hdd doesn't show all files in one specific folder. 36702d1485956713t-files-folders-not-showing-external-devices-k6fbk.png

By showing hidden files and not hiding protected operating system files, this is what shows:

My external hdd doesn't show all files in one specific folder. 36703d1485956713t-files-folders-not-showing-external-devices-k6fcq.png

    What I've tried:
    • The command "attrib -h -s -r -a /s /d F:\*.*" returns this:
    • My external hdd doesn't show all files in one specific folder. 36704d1485956713t-files-folders-not-showing-external-devices-k6fhv.png
    • Full system scan using Anti-MalwareBytes and Avast! reveals nothing.
    • Running RKill, UsbFix, RogueKiller, and iExplore.exe does not fix the problem.

I had the same problem with a USB before and had to format it to get it to work. I would rather not format this drive because it contains a lot of data but I may if desperate enough. Please help me. Thanks.

More images (changed the drive letter to S but that didn't help):
