Windows 10: My external monitor screen goes blank than reappears when I move my mouse

My Windows 10 LGgram laptop is connected by HDMI to an Dell S2721 external monitor with only the external monitor display on. The external monitor screen will go blank in various situations using Word document, doing internet searches etc. and the screen will reappear when I move my mouse. How do I prevent the screen from going blankThanks for suggestions.

Screen goes blank after changing BIOS settings/

I don't know how long this has been happening, a few weeks at least, but whenever I change a setting in my BIOS (and save & exit), my screen goes blank and my monitor goes into standby. Any suggestions to fix this?

Please answer these questions to assist you better.

• What is the make and model of your computer and external monitor?
• Have you installed all pending Windows and driver updates?
• Do you get any error message?

I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates in your PC and also update Display drivers. Follow the steps below.

Step 1: I would suggest you to check and install any latest Windows Updates available.

• Go to Start and then Settings.
• Click on Update and Recovery.
• Check for updates under
  Windows Updates.
• Restart the system and check if the issue is resolved.
