Windows 10: My file explorer keeps asking me to sign into wrong account and i am unable to login using...

My file explorer keeps on asking me to sign into wrong account. And I am unable choose the right account as there is no option other than to reset the password.

Thanks for the response. Appreciated. The "Please sign in" feature in File explorer was designed in Windows 11 to have access to Office.com (Mostly work accounts).

Since you no longer using a work account, you may just remove that option or disable on your file explorer. To do that, please follow the steps below:

In File Explorer, please click the 3 dots or (…) and select Options.

Under Privacy, please untick the "Show files from Office.com" and hit Apply then OK.

It should disable the "Please sign in" to your File explorer.

I am having a similar problem. File Explorer keeps asking me to sign in and it is prompting me to use the account I can't get into because I forgot the password and not matter what I attempt or what Microsoft has me to do to try and recover my account. I can't just can't sign into my file explorer. ( Also I have given up on recovering my account 8 months of trying I think is enough)

If I delete the information like you posted above, Will I lose everything that has been saved under that account, like documents, photos or term papers???

I'm Christine, an Independent Advisor and a Windows user like you. I can see here that you're being asked to sign in your old work email account in File Explorer. No worries, I'll do my best to help you.

Please check if your work account is still connected on your Windows then please disconnect it. Kindly follow the steps below:

Click Start menu and type Access work or school then hit enter

Select your work account there and hit Disconnect.

After that, restart your device and check if the issue persists.
