Windows 10: My File Explorer small size and have black background

my windows is 11 , i just open my pc now and i saw it like this it is the only icon small not like the other

Black/greyish background in windows explorer.

I found this image on the internet somewhere. How can I have such dark interface in windows 10 file explorer ?

Moreover, this is not a separate file manager. If you take a closer look on the left edge, you can see the a cropped portion of list having pinned shortcuts which is also dark.

 

PNGs have a black background in file explorer

My PNG and JPG files have a black background in file explorer. How can I change that? Many times when I download a new PNG or JPG file it has a white or transparent background at first and then eventually it turns black. It's really annoying because many
of the files are black, so with the black background I can't see them at all. I've performed a disk cleanup already and tried transferring the files to a new folder. Neither worked.

Change icon size in File Explorer (22621.2506)

I understand your frustration with the changes that occur with updates. There is no official way provided by Microsoft to roll back UI changes brought by updates. The design of File Explorer, including icon sizes and layouts, tend to be determined by the specific update and cannot be reverted to an older version without rolling back the entire update.

However, you can adjust the icon size in File Explorer in a few steps:

1. Open File Explorer.
   
2. Navigate to the folder where you want to change the icon size.
   
3. Click the "View" tab on the ribbon at the top of the File Explorer window.
   
4. In the "Layout" section, you can select between "Extra large icons", "Large icons", "Medium icons", "Small icons", "List", "Details", "Tiles", or "Content". Each of these will display your files and folders in a different way with different icon sizes.
   

As for the gray box around the file icon, this might have been a specific design element in the older version of File Explorer that has been removed in the new update. Unfortunately, there is no setting in File Explorer that allows you to add a gray box around file icons.

If you're not satisfied with the new design of File Explorer, you might want to consider giving feedback to Microsoft. Microsoft often take user feedback into account when designing new updates. You can do this by pressing the Windows key + F to open the Feedback Hub.
