Windows 10: My fingerprint scanner doesn't work to setup.

My fingerprint sensor is on synaptics 6.0.22.1111 and does not work, when I go to set it up in setting I put my finger on the scanner and right away it says "Sorry something went wrong try closing windows hello and going through the setup process again."


Here's what I've tried so far:

1) Reset my laptop which is running windows 10 64 bit

2) rolled back the biometrics driver two times

3) uninstalled the driver then reinstalled it

4) tried setting it on a local account

5) tried updating the hp BIOS


These all didn't work, if anyone has any other solutions please tell me because I'm getting very frustrated with this issue.

Scanner doesn´t work anymore after last Windows 10 update

As many people on the internet already are discussing, their scanner doesn´t work anymore after the last Windows update. But there seem to be no solution.

My Scanner starts making noises, as usual, and then i get error messages: "Communication with the scanner is not possible"

Is there a workaround for that?

I dunno.

Re-install the TWAIN drivers? (They are not included in Windows.)

You might get a better answer if you gave the make and model of the scanner.

 

Fingerprint Scanner Not Working

To resolve this issue try the following steps:

• 
  Have you updated the driver for the Finger Print scanner? If not, check on the manufacturer’s website (HP).
  
• 
  Check if installing the latest driver of the fingerprint scanner allows you to login using a Microsoft Account?
  

This issue might occur due to driver incompatibility since upgrading to Windows 10.



If you have the raw executable file of the corresponding driver for the validity sensor, I would suggest you to install the downloaded driver file in compatible mode with Windows 7 or 8. Refer to the following steps to do so.

• 
  Right click on the driver, and click on Properties.
  
• 
  Go to the Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check the box for Run this program in compatibility mode for:
  
• 
  Select Windows 7 in the list of Operating systems.
  
• 
  Click OK.
  
• 
  Double-click the driver file to install the driver and follow the onscreen instructions.
  
• 
  Reboot your computer.
