Windows 10: My fingerprint scanner gets greyed out after every update.

I have an Asus Vivobook flip with Windows 11. It has a fingerprint scanner and it worked when I got the laptop. Every time I get a Windows update, the fingerprint scanner get's greyed out in the settings.I don't have any other version of the driver. I have fixed this about a month, but I can't remember the details behind what I did, but it did have to do with uninstalling the drivers completely and reinstalling. The main issue is how it comes back after every single Windows Update, no exception. I shouldn't have to reinstall completely the drivers every single time I get an update. Is there a

To resolve this issue try the following steps:

• 
  Have you updated the driver for the Finger Print scanner? If not, check on the manufacturer’s website (HP).
  
• 
  Check if installing the latest driver of the fingerprint scanner allows you to login using a Microsoft Account?
  

This issue might occur due to driver incompatibility since upgrading to Windows 10.



If you have the raw executable file of the corresponding driver for the validity sensor, I would suggest you to install the downloaded driver file in compatible mode with Windows 7 or 8. Refer to the following steps to do so.

• 
  Right click on the driver, and click on Properties.
  
• 
  Go to the Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check the box for Run this program in compatibility mode for:
  
• 
  Select Windows 7 in the list of Operating systems.
  
• 
  Click OK.
  
• 
  Double-click the driver file to install the driver and follow the onscreen instructions.
  
• 
  Reboot your computer.

Fingerprint scanner

I updated windows, now my fingerprint scanner doesn't work. I tried everything help suggested. The fingerprint scanner just doesn't do anything anymore.
