Windows 10: My fingerprint scanner suddenly stopped working on Dell Inspiron 15 7000 laptop, running...

I usually use my fingerprint scanner to unlock my laptop but it suddenly stopped working yesterday. I searched online and I found out it might be a driver issue. I checked the driver for the fingerprint scanner and when I went into properties, it said that the hardware device was not connected, even though the fingerprint scanner is built into the laptop. Is there anything I could try to make my computer recognize the device again? Thanks

Inspiron 15 7000 won't stay on

That means Dell needs you to spend more money. *Wink

All I can think of is to try a new battery. Some laptops won't work without a functional battery installed apparently. This should be known for such a popular laptop like Dell Inspiron 15 7000 (whether it works with no battery just power cord or not.)

 

Fingerprint Scanner on laptop

I use a DELL inspiron 3584 laptop and it has a built-in fingerprint scanner on the power button but Windows can't seem to find anything about a fingerprint sensor yet on the manual that came with this it says power button = power on/off + fingerprint scanner
yet nothing comes up about fingerprint sensor's. If anyone can find a solution to this I will be very grateful. Thanks.

I am wondering if the Dell Inspiron 7000 PC will work well with Windows 11.

Currently the computer was on Windows 8 but I Idiotically bought an XCTRA PC flash drive changed my processor to run on Linux
