Windows 10: My Gateway Windows 11 laptop won't allow me to exit out of Advanced Setup screen

When I was watching some videos, a weird noise happened and my screen froze. It later showed a blue screen with a big ":" symbol shown and it said that something was wrong. I turned off my laptop but when I turned it on It was stuck on the logo screen for a few seconds before it showed the advanced setup screen. I clicked "Save Changes and Exit" but everytime I do a black and blue screen would flash and I would still be in that Advance setup screen. I exit the screen by pressing "ESC" key and the same thing would happen. I have powered off and restarted my laptop multiple times but it has not

I would like to note that step 20 comes up with no files. Perhaps this could be the source of the issues?

is it an oem windows xp disc you have (ie: able to install windows from boot) ? if so just get into your bios set your cd to boot first and when it says press any button to load cd (or similar) press anything, the setup process will begin and xp should find your hdd no problem (will be c*Smile

then read the options and choose to format the drive (i normally choose quick format as the longer one is just the same but checks the whole disk for errors and takes quite a while depending on the size) once formatted proceed to install win xp and the next step it will say " setup is now copying files" when this is done the laptop will reboot,

upon the reboot go back into the bios and select your hdd to boot first (might be ide0 or hdd) but keep the xp disc in then when you exit bios you will see the windows xp loading screen and it should be plain sailing from there.

sorry if im talking to you like a n00b you might know most of this but if you follow these steps you shouldnt see any problems.

 

After Windows 10 update, signin screen won`t accept my pssword.

Sign-in screen won`t take my password after Windows 10 update on a new HP laptop. I had setup a pin login but now asks for Microsoft password which I wrote down and have used before but will not accept now.
