Windows 10: My gpu clock and mem clock are at max at idle. is it bad and should i do something to fix it?

yesterday, i watched a tutorial online on how to increase performance on games such as ready or not, etc. and i gone through some steps and ended up with a somewhat smooth gaming experience. my gpu temp was 68 at max and didnt go above 70 degrees C. this nigght however, i noticed that my gpu and mem clock was running at max even at ide. the idle temp is 58 degrees C but while gaming, it still doesnt go above 70 C. before i followed the steps the online guide told me to, i made a restore point, just in case something bad happens. is it bad that my gpu and mem clocks are at max even while idle?

E71x Idle Screen Clock

I am trying to get the Analog clock to show up on my idle screen on my E71x but so far no luck but with the small clock at the bottom of the screen.

Does anyone out there have an idea on how to fix this?

 

how do i over clock?

the first number specified is the lower limit of the clock speed (basically what your device will use when idling or when playing music). dont bother setting this any lower than 250. there are no battery life benefits from setting it lower as, when your
screen is off and you arent using the device, it reverts to a 0mhz sleep mode.



the second number is the max frequency you wish your device to run at. the n900 uses steppings for clock speeds, so if it doesnt need the full max speed, it will just use a slightly lower stepping.

 

Processor isn't throttling at max clock...

I have a old laptop, whos processors rated max clock frequency is 2.70 GHz. But under full load it stays at 2.40 GHz, and when idle, (when there is more single threaded demand) at max I have seen it go to 2.62 GHz (2.50 average). Right now I am on battery, but I did test with power adapter connected and even tried after removing the battery. I am running on the ultimate performance preset with all sub settings maxed out. I have a 65 W adapter which shouldn't be too much of a problem on this laptop, so I don't think that there is any power throttling, although after this, I will try with a 90 W adapter I have. EDIT - ok, I just tried disabling processor power throttling via the registry, still no success, but I still have to restart, but I doubt it will work. In terms of thermals, even if I take control of my cooling fans using a software like SpeedFan, and set them to max speed, still, no success in bringing my processor to 2.70 GHz. My processor's base clock is 1.70, and the "rated" boost clock is 2.70. To solve this, I am willing to go deep, and if it is not healthy for my system, I still wanna see that juicy 2.70 in task manager.
