Windows 10: My graphics settings get reset when I put any game to 720p resolution anybody has a...

When ever I try to put any game of mine to 720p resolution the game minimizes automatically and the whole screen goes black and takes time to get back to normal state and this thing keeps happening till I put the resolution back to 1080p.The reset is just like when we press win+Ctrl+shift+B.Anybody with a solution pls help....

720p/900p 60 fps, Ultra Settings Gaming

Hello, good people of TechPowerUp forums,

As the title suggests, I am looking to game at either 720p or 900p (720p preferred) with Ultra Settings. Will the following configuration be enough for post-2016 titles including AAA ones?

CPU - Core i3-8100/Ryzen 5 1400 with compatible mobos from the value spectrum (think H series for Intel and B series for AMD)
RAM - 8 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 (4 GB x2)
GPU - 1050 Ti 4 GB/1060 3 GB

Any preferences, comments and suggestions are welcome!

• Is the issue particular to that game or other games also?

This issue could occur if the your playing a game at a different resolution than the desktop resolution.

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps:

Step 1: I suggest you to check the resolution of the game as well as the resolution with in the computer and see if you are able to play the games in full screen.

You can install Windows 8/8.1 drivers in compatibility mode from Manufacturer's website, if there are no Windows 10 compatible drivers.

Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

• Download the updated driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right click the driver installation file and select Properties then tap or click the
  Compatibility tab.
• Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box.
  
• Tap the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click
  OK.
• Try installing the driver and check.

I keep having to set the video to 720p instead of VGA. The setting doesnt stick and I have to reset it every time. Where do I set video defaults?
