    My GTX 1050 on my Surface Book 2 is still disconnecting even after the 1903 Update


    So I know that Microsoft acknowledged and sent out a fix for the DGPU issue for Surface Book 2 owners that had the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or 1060. For those who do not know about this issue, there was an issue that caused Surface Book 2 owners with an NVIDIA DGPU to disconnect from the laptop after using a program that will heavily use DGPU. For example, when I am playing a game that heavily relies on the DGPU, I can play this game for a while before I hear the USB disconnecting sound and the game crashing because the laptop does not detect the DGPU anymore. On the Device Manager, it does not detect the DGPU and it only shows the Intel UHD graphics card. A fix was sent out in the 1903 update that was released last year. I downloaded this update and installed it, yet the problem does not seem to have been fixed. I've talked to Customer Support and they could not help me. One person told me to uninstall the driver from Device Manager, restart my computer, and the problem should be fixed. However, after I did this, he did not respond back to me. Instead, he just left the customer support chat. I went to a Microsoft Store and they offered to give me a brand me Surface Book 2. However, I am still dealing with this problem. I could be absolutely wrong, but I believe this problem is more of a hardware issue than a software issue. This is why I'm still having this problem. Can someone help me out here?!

    NVIDIA Graphics card disconnecting from Surface Book 2

    Hi

    I recently bought a surface book 2 i7 with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card

    I'm having issues with the NVIDIA card disconnecting. It appears to be constantly disconnected, when I reattach my screen it appears connected for a brief time before disconnecting again. Occasionally I receive an error message when it disconnects but
    mostly not.

    In Device Manager it appears as a hidden device with the error Code 45.

    My surface/windows software and NVIDIA drivers are up to date

    I have not made any hardware changes to the computer.

    I have run the surface diagnostic tool and Hardware and Device Troubleshooter with no success

    I this an issue of faulty hardware that will require replacement or not?
