Windows 10: My handicapped daughters computer just made us install Windows 11. The screen only stays on...

Just installed Windows 11 on my daughters computer. But it stays on for 20 seconds and then goes into sleep mode. You do not have time to really do anything before it goes to sleep. I have already gone in and changed the sleep mode settings with no difference at all. My handicapped daughter is VERY frustrated and upset. What the heck are we supposed to do? All she can do with being handicapped is play on her computer.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

Computer randomly has black screen and restarts

Taco this could be software also. Before you get all crazy, do as Erocker suggested. Find out the error in the Event Viewer. Look for the faulting module and the error code itself. Also check the reliability monitor. At the bottom it will have "View all Error Reports". Post a screen of whats in there if anything.

This could be a simple as a bad driver install.

ALSO have you downloaded or installed anything lately? STAY OUT OF THE DAMN BIOS UNTIL WE KNOW THE ERROR! lol. I know you. Baby steps boy, baby steps.

 

Need to make Skype work for my handicapped/non-verbal daughter.

First, let me say that I find your Ten Forums username to be wrong. You are not a @VillageIdiot, in my opinion you are rather a VillageHero. You are a dad willing to do everything possible for her daughter.

In these times, we too often forget the role of family members as caretakers. We, of course, will respect the nurses, doctors, first response workers and so on, but quite often do not give a second thought for those parents caring about their children, children taking care of their parents, and so on.

For me, you are a hero. Thank you for posting, thank you for reminding me about what's important.

OK, then to the business.

On your daughter's laptop, open Skype and select Settings:





On navigation pane on the left, select Calling, then select Advanced on right pane:





Now turn on both Answer incoming calls automatically and Start my video automatically:





That should do it.
