Windows 10: My Hard drive died and I lost my windows 10 Professional Key. How can I get a replacement key?

My Hard drive died and I lost my windows 10 Professional Key. I mean Microsoft has all my computer information when I login. They know my system name and that it was windows 10 pro. How can I get a replacement key?You would think I could go to my computer information page and get my key from there. IDK. PLease help, how can I get a replacement key for Windows 10 Professional??Shane Miller

Google and download the "Windows 10 media creation tool"

Create a USB flash drive ISO and that's all you need...it will work without needing a key..
Just skip past entering a key during full install and delete all partitions, format, create new drive and install...

As long as you have upgraded from Windows 8 first...you need to do that prior to using your Windows 8 key for 10.

 

Windows 10 Pro Activation Key

I have lost access to Windows activation key following motherboard failure. Due to age of laptop, I have replaced it and now wish to upgrade Windows Home to Pro on the new one.

The activation Key does not appear to be linked to my microsoft account although the old laptop is still in list of devices and confirms professional version of Windows had been in use. The hard drive from old laptop is functional and i wonder if there
is any way of retrieving key from files.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks but I don't want to do any decrypting. I want to download a Win 10 ISO from Microsoft and install it using my Win 8 key. No other steps required. Is that possible?
