    Why, now that I am running Windows 10, is my hard drive identified as ThisPC > Windows8_OS (CMy Hard Drive ID :)?

    My DVD/RW drive is not recognized by Windows 10

    Under drives it shows my printer, my hard drive and my c drive. No IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.

    Windows 10 create pool

    I checked my BIOS and found out that the Hard Drives were configured as IDE drives. I changed it to RAID, but my pc refused to boot. I got the blue screen with an error message "Inaccessible boot device." So, I had to reconfigure the Hard Drives to IDE
    again.

    My Hard Drive ID

    It's named the same as it was before you installed Windows 10, just highlight it, right click it, select rename and name it what you want.

    It had occurred to me that might be the case, but I also thought the Microsoft folks would rename the thing in the process of installing the New And Improved OS.

    My 1TB external hard drive for some reason says it has 14.8GB free of 31.9GB. Can anyone...: I got this external hdd a long time ago and vaguely remember thinking I would partition it so possibly that is what happened. I just for Christmas 2024 got a new laptop and decided I should create an image backup of the OS before much more time goes by and something happens....
