    hey everybody, really need some help on this issue. I have important data on this hard drive. So I got a new SSD, Sabrent Rocket 4.0, and it's great. I had to reinstall Windows on that drive though, as I had decided that this would be my main drive. When I went onto file manager, I noticed something unusual. there was a lock on my hard drive. No problem, just unlock the drive and it asks me for a 48 digit code. That's the thing though. I NEVER backed up my drive nor do I have a recovery key. All of the solution s aren't working, help?

    External Hard Drive Locked Automatically by Bitlocker

    I have a problem with my external hard drive. It appears that Bitlocker locked it without my knowledge. I have never even heard of Bitlocker before my File Explorer told me that the drive was locked by Bitlocker.

    I have no password because I did not set it up. As for the recovery key, I was able to retrieve it from my Microsoft Account. However, when I used it, Windows 10 did not accept the recovery key.

    How do I recover my files from my external hard drive?

    Reinstalled Win 10 and Issue with Bitlocker locked drive

    I had to reinstall windows 10 on my pc that has several HDD and SSD drives. One hard drive that was locked by bitlocker is no longer recognized. I'm am never asked for the password to unlock. Under disk management I can see the drive but it is shown
    as "unallocated space" and the only option is to created a new volume which would destroy the data. No option to give it a driver letter. Any ideas?
