    Hello,My laptop have 250GB SSD and 1TB HDD previously it installed ubuntu. but when i trying to install windows it does not detect any hard drives. but in bios and linux system it shows both disks i formatted in different ways also i delete partitions. but still does not detect in windows installation. ah also i tried it in hiren's boot cd it also show disks. this happen both windows 11 and 10.

    Hard drive advice?

    i tried to install RHL - 9 on my Compaq Presario PC and got a msg "No Hard Drives detected". However Windows is running on my PC and when i tried to install Ubuntu-Linux for Human Beings, it detected the presence of the hard drive and showed the existing partitions.

    I tried to find the HDD driver thru windows but got nothing matching with the manually loadable drivers in RHL that r listed during installation.

    the hard disk in my PC is a SATA one and its number is WDC- followed by some numbers.

    plz,can anyone bail me out from this predicament?

    2 of my internal hard drives, not been reconized!!

    Try using diskpart to convert one of the drives to basic disk

    Code: diskpart list disk (verify this with disk manager to make sure the drive numbers haven't changed. The two disks you are trying to clean should have a * in the Dyn column) select disk # (#= the disk number) convert basic clean create partition primary select part 1 format fs=ntfs quick[/quote]
