Windows 10: My Headphones connect to my computer but the audio does not come through or comes through...

Hello,I've had this issue for a long time now but my headphones will connect both audio and mic, but when it does the audio either does not come through or it stays choppy until it works or stops working. There are also issues with connecting and disconnecting the headphones. This isn't an issue with any other device and it is usually solved when i uninstall and reinstall the Bluetooth drivers but the issue always comes back eventually.

Audio not coming through headphones on Windows 10

Windows 10/Realtek seems to recognize that headphones are connected if I connect them while the laptop on. But keeps using laptop speakers for audio after the "Which audio device did you connect to the audio jack" or whatever pop-up.

If I restart with the headphones connected, neither the speakers nor the headphones work. The audio meter in sound setting shows it's playing sound, but no audio comes through.

Troubleshooting detects nothing. Drivers are updated.

They're new headphones. They work with every other device including my phone, so the problem is definitely Windows. They randomly have worked but right now Windows is just not recognizing them again, even after 5 restarts...

I've checked on this issue and there are multiple possibilities why you are experiencing this issue, from hardware to drivers. I would like to know more information regarding the issue to assist you better:

• What is the connection between the headphones and the computer?
• If it is using a 3.55 audio jack, is it firmly connected to the said jack?
• Have you tried connecting it to a different device to check if the issue persists?

In the meantime, I suggest that you perform the troubleshooting steps posted by
Syed N in this thread to isolate the issue.

headphones plugged in but sound coming from speakers

My daughter's new laptop (HP Windows 11, purchased 8 months ago) is having an issue with the headphones. In the last couple of days, whenever she plugs them in, the sound still comes from the speakers, not the headphones.

These are simple wired in-ear headphones that work fine on other devices. I've tried other headphones that work fine in other devices, all with the same result.

I've tried setting headphones as the default playback device, but when I select it in the list, Set As Default is greyed out.

I checked the drivers and they are all up to date. I also ran the audio troubleshooter and it found no problems.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?
