Windows 10: My headset I use as a mic for my lapotop does not pick up my voice correctly

when I plug my headset into my laptops mic port it is picked up. But it doesn't work correctly. Instead of pick up my voice through the mic part, it picks it up through the speakers / ear muffs of the headset. ( The headset I'm using is the ASTRO A10's ) I have been using them for a while now but here recently they just started messing up like that. I have tried many other headset's and earbuds with mic and all still the same.

My built-in mic isn't picking up my voice.

I am not using nor do I have access to a headset with a mic. It won't let me rollback driver and the troubleshooter cannot find a problem. I went through set up mic, but it still won't pick up my voice.

 

Headset, Microphone not picking up my voice however the earphones are?

When trying to use my headset to record screen editing the microphone was only picking up the lowest muffle of my voice, after trying everything and selecting my speakers to play anything going through the headset, I held the headset infrom
of my face and I could hear clearly but the earphones part is whats relaying my voice not the mic? how do i fix this I cannot just hold the earphones infromt of me

 

Headset mic not picking up sound.

(1) Jiggle the wire where it connects at computer & at headset to see whether it is loose or frayed.

(2) A BING of "Headset mic not picking up sound" is how I found the first one.
