Windows 10: My headset is only being recognized as an output device, and my speakers as an input.

I have a pair of speakers and a headset. Neither were working, so I went so my sound settings. My headset was only being recognised as an audio output device, and my speakers only as an input. Ive tried disabling my speakers, restarting my pc, and all of the other things I have found on the web. no matter what I do, I cannot make my headset with a microphone be recognised as an input device. I have tried everything I have seen online, and everything I can think of. all of my drivers are updated, and I have my headset plugged into the headset port. What should I do so I can use my headset?

Windows 10 recognizes my UE Megaboom as a headset and not a speaker will not work?

Thank you for the reply, unfortunately this did not solve the problem. I followed the steps but no luck.

Device manager still says WonderBoom headset paired it does not recognize it as a speaker as all. Any other suggestions, please.
