    My HP desktop computer running on updated Windows regularly freeze at random usually once...


    Sometimes, I wait and screen goes back to normal but half the time I have to restart the computer after it turns to sleep mode. The image attached shows small zig zags all over the screen. Annoying because it can happen in the middle of a Zoom meeting and I have to restart my computer and ask to rejoin the Zoom meeting. What would you suggest the problem is and how to solve this? Some one at Staples said I should reinstall Windows and save everything on an outside device first. Otherwise, Staples will do that for $200. By the way, there is nothing wrong it seems with my HP system tests done w

    HP Desktop is a lot slower than usual...

    My HP Desktop has been a lot slower than it usually is. I don't know if it has to do with the latest update or patches or what it is. But when I first wake it up and enter my password to unlock it, it's slow clicking on the lock screen to enter the PIN code. Once I am in, the Start Menu freezes up or hangs. Then, it's okay after that.

    Any suggestions?

    Random freezes or shut downs

    Completely random freezing/shutdowns on a system with no recent hardware changes, and hard drive, memory, and PSU fine, usually means a software issue (file corruption or malicious software). I suggest following DavidV's recommendations.

    Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130


    Hello everyone.

    I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

    1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
    2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.
    In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

    Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.
