I began noticing a few months ago that my Envy x360 has been getting very hot consistently, especially while charging and in situations where it really shouldn't be.
Right now as I type, the laptop is on my desk, the vents are unobstructed and have been cleaned, the charger is in, the only application I have open is google Chrome... and the temperature of the CPU is still 55C. And that is on the low end of average temperatures. I left my laptop on my bed while I went to get a drink, with the lid down, on charge and came back to of 84C, which is frankly terrifying and ridiculous.

For reference here are my temps, while idling, according to CPUID:

I have updated my BIOS, I have installed Coolsense (which as far as I can tell does literally nothing), and as I have stated the ventilation ports are clear and clean.

As of yet it has never shut off or failed to boot due to overheating, but given the excessive temperature I am concerned the components will soon become damaged.

I've posted this on the HP Help forums as well because I'm desperate to find a fix for this. This is my work laptop, I don't use it for gaming or even anything remotely graphically intensive, but as it is I'm worried it'll burn itself out or the house down at the rate its going.

I want a good quality stylus to use for my hp envy x360, which would be the best choice and how would I get it to work for this laptop?

New AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU running extremely hot

There is 10c temperature offset in Ryzen2 (was 20c in first series) confusing the heck out of users and some programs showing that much higher temps. As Ryzen Master doesn't recognize Ryzen2 practically only program accurate enough left is HW Info HWiNFO - Download
These are temperatures to watch for
Top one is without offset and bottom one is real core temp.

In these ones, CPU temp is so called "Package" temp measured at the back of processor.

HP Envy x360 with 1440p screen?

So I bought a refurb HP Envy x360 with the AMD FX 9800P and recently discovered I could set the screen resolution to 2560x1440 despite HP advertising this machine as only being capable of 1920x1080. Has anyone else bought one of these and found they could change the resolution to 1440P? I was thinking maybe since mine is a refurb that it was originally returned for some kind of screen issue and they replaced the screen with whatever they had lying around that day, which could well have been a screen meant for a Spectre, and not an Envy, since the Spectre does come with a 1440p screen. Would a mistake like this even be possible? It came in an Envy box and it says Envy everywhere on the laptop where it should say it. There is no external evidence that this might actually be a Spectre and not an Envy. So is this a fluke or all of these capable of displaying 1440p instead of being limited to 1080p as advertised?
