My HP laptop is not playing discs. I have run the trouble shooter & there were no errors found. When I click on the media player the drive ejects & I insert the disc and it searches with a green bar like its searching for the disc. Then nothing happens. It used to play automatically when a disc was inserted. Any ideas for a solution to this issue would be very much appreciated. Upgrade from 8.1 to Win 10

Hi Roy,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

• Is this laptop compatible with Windows 10?
• Are there drivers for Windows 10 for this laptop on HP website?

I would suggest you to temporarily disable/un-install any HP's software if you have installed.

Also, I would suggest you to start the upgrade by un-installing the updated drivers and installing basic windows drivers.

Follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Right on the start icon and click on device manager
  
• 
  Expand Network/Device adapters, Select the adapter, right click and click on un-install.
  
• 
  Restart the computer.
  
  Now start the upgrade from an ISO and see if that helps.

Laptop not listed in Devices in Microsoft Account

Hi. When I log into my Microsoft account and check under Devices, I only see 3 out of 4 devices that I use with the account. Listed are two nokia windows phones running win 8.1 and 1 hp stream 11 laptop running windows 10.

My main hp-15 laptop running windows 10 is not listed.

I've tried the steps here:

Add a trusted device to your Microsoft account - Microsoft Support

to make it a trusted device but it doesn't make my hp-15 laptop listed.

Disc for windows 7 to run on windows 10

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to read the Windows 7 disc and check if it helps.

• Insert Windows 7 disc.
• Press “Windows+E” which will open file explorer.
• There you will find the Windows 7 disc.
• Open the disc and copy the files anywhere on your computer, so that you can access the information from the disc.
