Windows 10: My HP laptop wont get past the initial HP screen and just shows the startup circle. I did...

When I power on my HP computer, it only gets as far as the HP screen with circle. I installed a new battery, but it is still showing this same screen.

HP laptop wont get past startup screen

I was resetting my laptop until it ran into an error, I went back into windows and then turned my laptop off, later I turned my laptop on and it started up, got to the hp screen, then turned off and turned back on and it would loop like that infinitely
ive done startup repair and it says that it ran into an error and the log file is: C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt and ive tried running “chkdsk /f /r C:” in the command prompt in advanced settings and ive tried resetting my pc again but it all
just goes back to the looping startup, recently my hp has gone to just starting up, doing the loading circle thing and then just going black, not turning off but just going black. Im running windows 10 and my model is:HP Notebook - 14-ac151nr (ENERGY
STAR).

- this suggests BIOS corruption or a hardware problem...
Whilst you might try flashing the BIOS (updating it may be necessary to run Win 10- witness your problem above), you also say you have access to it.
Do you hear any beeps or sounds?

Check the version of your BIOS vs that listed on HP's site for your laptop.

I'm also wondering if this might be related to your CMOS battery inside your laptop. (This should be a normal circular battery).

Sorry that's not how to create a bootable disk. All that disk is is data storage- as you just copied the files to it.

However, given the above, doing that isn't likely to help you I'm afraid.

This is a frequent problem am sure as you have already seen from online searches.

Flea power is usually the culprit here, basically its residual power that remains on the computer even after thecomputer has been shutdown. You can drain the flea power with the steps the other answers have suggested.

• Disconnecting the battery and adapter
• Press the hardpress the power button for 30 seconds
• This should clear the flea power
