Windows 10: My HP pavilion laptop keeps shutting down when I'm trying to factory reset....

When I turn the computer on I see a white box flash for a split second and go away. Ive tried using the repair tool and shuts down or tells me I'm not connected to the Internet which I am, tried making a USB of windows and boot from there install new windows and still shuts down before it can complete. I'm not sure what to try next.

HP Pavilion g6 Laptop Keeps Shutting Down During PC Reset

My HP Pavilion g6 computer has been repeatedly shutting down in the middle of a reset to the entire computer that would clear all the files and settings so I could start fresh. I want to wipe everything off, but once it's in the middle of resetting, it
can't make it past 4% without shutting off automatically. I can hear the computer fan running during the process and have my own miniature fan to help keep it cool, and I leave it plugged in a charger during the resetting, so how can I fix this? I already
tried troubleshooting the power on the PC and going into Safe Mode to do so. The laptop works just fine throughout regular use but has somehow been shutting off on its own whenever I'm making progress with the reset. Please let me know if you can help.

 

Pavilion Laptop with CPU error code

It may be silly of me but try the next few things :

• See if ram stick are properly seated
• Try to check did you seated your cpu properly
• See if all of the cables lie down ok in their slots
• Check for excesive paste on the CPU socket
• Try a hard reset of laptop by removing the cmos battery out for 15 minutes
• Remove your HDD and try to start the laptop

I hope this will help you a bit. Had a HP Pavilion on a maintenance check a while ago and either you believe it or not he didn't want to start because of a bad hard drive and gave me signal that the CPU was faulty.

HP Pavilion 15 randomly shuts down incorrectly if fast startup enabled

I've just updated an HP Pavilion 15 from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 (Home 64 bit). If fast startup is enabled, the laptop freezes at the very least step of the shutting down process. The shutting down process goes like this:

1. First you click on shut down
2. The shut down screen appears
3. The screen turns off and then the fan starts to spin at high speed
4. After 4-5 seconds, the fan stops
5. The laptop is completely turned off, no lights are turned on (in most of PC's)

Well, my problem is that randomly, the Pavilion 15 freezes after step 4 has been completed, with the light of the ON/OFF button turned on forever. Sometimes it turns off correctly, but many other times this happens. If I disable the fast startup, this won't happen and it will always turn off correctly.

What can I do?
How is it that it's random?

I've tested this with no apps running on background, so that can't be the reason, besides, no apps or programs can freeze the system after the step 4 has been completed, since they are all shut down after step 1.

Also, the fast startup option was activated when I was using Windows 8.1 and never had a single problem with this laptop.
