Windows 10: My HP Pavillion Dv7 Notebook CD-RW/DVD Blue Ray Burner has not worked since The upgrades to...

I have a Win 7 HP I have a PAVILLION DV7 notebook that I upgraded to Widows 10 A couple of years ago when I was sent an Invite. It was too much for me and a rolled back. This summer I had a disk failure and replaced the hard drive with blank 1 TB drive.


I Installed Windows 10 , thought it was a good time to try Win 10 again. Finally after getting the AMD graphic drivers corrected. I noticed the DVD was not appearing as D:\, then I Finally got it to display as a drive on the folder tree D:\. But when you put a cd or dvd in, you go to the driver dialog, to Volume b, Click the Populate Button, zero, zilch, nada. Same on File explorer to view file , empty. You do hear a little spin up noise.

Hp Pavillion Notebook upgrades

Hi, i have a friend with a Hp notebook and is wondering if he should look into upgrading his laptop or buying a new one, i dont know much about laptop upgrading and cant seem to find anywhere to look for cpu compatibly and whatnot. The laptop is a couple years old. He does some light gaming if that info is necessary.

Model: Hp Pavillion Dv7-1245dx
OS: Windows 7
Cpu: AMD Turion x2 Dual Core Mobile RM-72 ~ 2.1 GHz
Memory: 4GB, not sure what kind but he upgraded it so that shouldn't be a problem
VGA: ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

HP DVD burner

a got 50 double layer dvd+r, 50 dvd -r, 50 dvd+5 cd+rw. all of them is blacnk disc and my dvd burner can't read one of them. but when i take one of those dics and burn it with a dvd burner on my laptop, then put it back to my desktop, then the hp dvd can read it. i also can erase it and burn dvd-rw, cd-rw too. it just can't read a new blank disc.
